Can I request training for payment? If so, how? So far, the only way that I know of is to drag my instructor off in the middle of the night to the library and spend an "extended rest" there with her. (that sounds so wrong, BTW). The training and components are free on request if it's related to the mission. So if for example, I want to use the "Portend Weather" ritual to give my group a +5 to Endurance to endure extreme weather during the next mission, can I request to train for it (during an extended rest) and get the components?

About Firehawk Taken from community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19648618/Heart_of_the_Wild" Firehawk (PP) - Easily the best single target ranged at-will that druids have access to. Start of the fight and you want to keep a melee enemy away? FIREHAWK. Controller giving you a hard time with status effects? FIREHAWK. Artillery hiding from your melee and raining down hurt? FIREHAWK. Wine stains on your dress leathers? FIREHAWK. OK maybe not the last one, but the rest of them? Yes. This is absolutely the best at-will in the game for locking down distant artillery and controllers, so embrace its uniqueness and take this at-will just like every other druid is going to. You should talk to your DM about this power though, because if they interpret "can provoke an opportunity attack" to mean "provokes an opportunity attack" that makes the power really weak. " MODIFY: Please see: community.wizards.com/walltigers/go/thread/view/90013/21955825/?pg=lastcommunity.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/21876205/Fire_Hawk_opportunity_attackMy interpretation would be that running, any mothod of movement (but not shifting), using either ranged attack or area attack (not close blast and melee) would trigger it. However, it counts as an opportunity attack so I can't make a basic melee attack on the same turn even if the enemy run past me. Also, if I shift into beast form at the end of the turn I can't use the secondary extra attack since it doesn't have the Beast Form keyword. This put it in line with other "restrict movement and ability usage" of the druid's at-will and severely mess with enemy blaster or controller, explaining why it targets Reflex. Otherwise, the secondary attack comes in too litte, too late in the fight for it to be worthwhile. END OF MODIFICATION So how would you define "can provoke an Opportunity Attack"?

For lv2, I retrain Lightning Arc for Summon Giant Toad
Can I change i aethetically into "Summon Giant Mantis" instead? It would feel more compatible with my character's beast form.
And for a teeny bit of extra fluff, can it have Fly 2 instead of Swim 6?

community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/21061989/Drwid_Firehawk?pg=1read Scatterbrain's post and RAW states Trigger: Target takes an action that CAN provoke OA. Capped and Bolded for convenience: MOVING ALONE DOES NOT PROVOKE OA. MOVING AWAY FROM A SPOT ADJACENT TO A ENEMY CREATURE DOES.Thereafter the following instances trigger the secondary attack: 1) Target makes a Ranged attack while within 10 squares maintaining a line of effect to you. 2) Target shifts away from a fighter that is able to make an OA for such an action. 3) Target moves away from its enemy's adjacent square You can adjust a power only if you make it a character feature power to replace existing powers. Subject to approval. Write up a full power in the respective forums.

Personal Training is available only during a character's off-day, in which you do not have any at the moment. Your instructor will no longer teach you unless an officer asks her to. To apply for personal training, ask your officer. Motoko stares at you blankly every time you bring up 'ritual'. Your passive insight tells you that you need to get on her good side first and often that means working effective in a tactical situation without endangering the party or asking to attack an ally every time.

Side note: Shifting away from a fighter does not provoke an "Opportunity attack" just a free melee basic attack from the fighter (no opportunity action required)

What about area attack? If this spell can't at least lock down that pesky Wizard that is raining death from above to my party then it would become VERY subpar. The 1d8 primary damage does NOT help its case. Especially since I have AREA powers that does the same damage but are wayyyy better at stopping the enemy dead in their track, if I can even remember to use the secondary attack that is.
However, since we did not encounter any blaster or controller type enemy yet, I think it's still to early to judge its performance from text alone. Time will tell I guess. If it sucks, I can just re-train it at level 3 right? RIGHT?

ranged bursts and ranged blasts(are there such things?) would provoke,
close bursts and close blasts dont provoke, just as they dont provoke in melee

Let's hope we encounter some controllers next mission, then. I'm anxious to try this one out.

Hey, Alvin. Can I use the new PH3 feats for my druid? I've been itching to remove that Expert Ritualist (not) feat from my character for ages. Also, for the power "Predator's Flurry", since I'm a Predator Druid but I have terrible Dex mod, can I just take the normal shift 2 like everyone else? And another thing (I'm feeling chatty today), for the superior implement feat, if I pick it up at lv 4 and get Enchant Weapon ritual, can I enhance my staff to have superior implement traits as well as its existing ones (for the cost of the sup.implement and the ritual of course)?

sentient weapons cannot be enhanced in any way other than growing it.
u can use PH3 feats as long as u supply source material
what do u mean by normal shift 2 "like everyone else". when was that available to "everyone else"?

The Predator's Flurry works as such, druid attack once, daze then shift 2 to attack and daze someone else. (kinda like a controlled Color Spray). Predator druid can instead shift by their Dex mod instead. However, my Dex mod is zero (since I mistakenly pumped my points into Int ). I'm asking if I can shift 2 like normal or must I stay still cause I'm a (badly built) Predator druid.
