Terrün is a world divided into 5 main continents. The north and south poles are frozen wastelands where no living being is known to thrive in. However, the various nations send expeditions into these barren lands hoping to claim them for themselves often to no fruition. None of them has returned.
The other 3 continents are controlled by the 3 main superpowers: Cabus, Frestia and Qualibu.
In the world of Terrün, money exists mainly as 2 forms – Cash and Cashless. Cash currency is accepted generally as slips of paper. They are either printed in platinum, gold or silver. Astral crystal is available as well but is extremely rare. These astral crystals are generally found in banks and tend to exist as gleaming solid thin bars (about 5mm thick, 2cm wide and 5cm long weighing 0.2lbs a piece).
The citizens earn their upkeep by taking up jobs and are paid either on monthly basis or per completed contract. As a soldier in a P.M.C., wages are gained on a monthly basis. However there are boost and bonuses to their missions. These bonuses are normally informed prior to mission start.
Currency in this world serves a few functions, they’re mostly meant for upkeep such as maintenance of equipment or use for upgrading their combat efficiency. They can also be used to procure food and beverages. Different places accept different forms of currency. Generally, all services within E.P.I.N. and its affiliates within the city accept cashless transactions. However, in most parts of the city, cash transactions are the norm. In order to discourage theft within the company, the company uses cashless transactions.
The city is filled with all sorts of apparels and peripherals which can be used for both flavour and function.
The red light district is also located near the edge of the city, on the opposite edge of where E.P.I.N. is located. Soldiers are highly discouraged from making use of the brothels. In order to visit the city, the players are encouraged to wear civilian clothing. For as long as they wear the E.P.I.N. company uniform, their actions will be severely monitored within the city. The civilians will also shun the military. Weapons and Implements are forbidden within the city limits.
Travelling to the city requires use of vehicular transports. As E.P.I.N. is located on the outskirts of the city of Qualibu, leaving the company to head for the city requires use of either commercial monocycles or taking the public bus. Within the city, trains and buses take people everywhere. A player not street-smart may find himself lost in the city easily with its complex street design.
The P.M.C.s (Private Military Corporation) are responsible for the overall defence of the city. They are employed for military protection against possible incursions from external threats. The soldiers are often deployed on the outskirts and are rarely deployed within city limits. P.M.C.s are also used to expand the city’s influence. The company regularly get missions from Qualibu to survey the surrounding land and to build outposts there so that there can be further expansion for the nation. Shady missions are told to be given to the top dogs of the company, Section SS.
The United Council governs Cabus (Fey Dominated), Frestia (Shadow Dominated) and Qualibu (Mixed Races Dominated). It is not easy for the Council as these Nations have only in recent decades formed and accepted a truce and stopped their activities in fighting each another over claimed territory. They are now only allowed to claim unclaimed territory. Should any of the nations be fighting each another openly over a piece of unclaimed land, the Council steps in and slaps an economic penalty to the involved nations. Failure to adhere to such penalties results in a shut-in economy for the affected nation. This causes a severe downturn and possibly creating a major economic depression.
