Ronen ‘Carmilla’ Gackt was reincarnated back into the mortal world deep in the forests of Tristessa. As divine power surged through the new body of Ronen Gackt, the darkest of events took place as Carmilla plunged her fangs into Ronen… Divine power interwoven with necrotic energies transformed the newborn deva into a half-vampire deva.
History
A memory of a thousand lifetimes has afflicted the spirit of Ronen. Since the time of the primordials, Ronen Gackt has existed in multitude forms of great divinity – assisting the Goddess of Death; more commonly known as the Raven Queen. He has never questioned the aims and goals of the Raven Queen. For eons, Ronen has hunted down all manner of undead and putting them to sleep eternally.
But, in his previous lifetime – more than half a millennia ago, Ronen Gackt went through a major change. He met up with the Crown Princess from the Vampiric Heritage line – Carmilla. She was Akashiya Carmilla; of Oriental origins. Ronen Gackt for once, eventually found that he could not bring himself to vanquish the beauty before himself. As vampire hunters sought to hunt down Akashiya, Ronen found himself defending Akashiya. Both of them managed to flee to safety, but Ronen knew his injuries were too much for his mortal body. And as his body started to disappear as radiant lights emitted from the empty shell, Akashiya screamed out in agony as she reached out for Ronen, as much as the radiant energies were searing into her…
Since Ronen almost fell from grace, the Raven Queen was wondering if she should allow
him to be born into the mortal world again. But she knew she could not do without his services. As such, the Raven Queen reluctantly brought Ronen back into the current age [2 years ago]. But, during the absence of more than 500 years, Akashiya has been using all manner of rituals and magic to try and locate Ronen’s soul. Desperate measures brought her to make a pact with Vecna – the God of Undead. She was willing to trade her undead services to him if Vecna could locate the next location where Ronen would be reincarnated as a deva.
The Reincarnation of Ronen ‘Carmilla’ Gackt
As radiant light glowed from the Forest of Tristessa; a mortal divine being – Ronen Gackt was brought into the mortal world. As his flesh became mortal and bound to the mortal plane, out from the darkness, Akashiya approached the deva even though the radiant energies hurt her. She wrapped her arms around Ronen Gackt as he regained consciousness…
In the midst of his semi-consciousness, Akashiya knew her time was running up. She had to return to Vecna. With tears flowing down her eyes, Akashiya decided to imbue her blood into Ronen. Knowing that he is of divine origins, the undead powers cannot totally overcome Ronen. As she kissed Ronen, blood flowing through and exchanging between the two torn lovers, Vecna’s avatar appeared and pulled Akashiya away. Just then, Ronen fully awoke, knowing he is a deva once again, but he could feel necrotic energies running through his body as his eyes glowed red with anger. Ronen tried to reach for Akashiya but he was too late.
As darkness once more settled on the Forest of Tristessa, Ronen sank to his knees and cried out in anguish to the Raven Queen. Being her most favourite assistant, the Raven Queen appeared before Ronen Gackt. She admonished the deva for being foolish to have fallen for someone from the dark side. But as much as the Raven Queen admonished Ronen, she realized that with his rage and anger, he could help to further her cause with greater impact.
The Raven Queen then told Ronen that she is supposed to destroy his current mortal being. But, she knows that Ronen would be distraught since Akashiya’s blood flowed through his veins now. As such, the Raven Queen allowed Ronen to exist in his current form on one condition. He must seek out all undead and destroy them as they obstruct the goals of the Raven Queen. As for Akashiya, the Raven Queen is willing to decide on the issue when she is found once more.
As such, Ronen ‘Carmilla’ Gackt was reincarnated, approved by his Goddess – The Raven Queen.
Marius – the sentient left hand
During the course of exchange between Akashiya and Ronen, the spiritual energies of Marius in Akashiya’s soul transferred over to Ronen. Since Ronen is not a full vampire, he could not sustain the energies internally. As such, Marius managed to break free but only partially. His face appears on Ronen’s left hand and talks to Ronen, causing wanton irritation. However, he also helps Ronen to deal with certain difficult situations. He was allowed to exist in Ronen’s body, as granted by the Raven Queen, provided Marius agrees to the goals of the Raven Queen; and Marius must not revert back to his old diabolical vampiric ways again. As such, Marius acts as Ronen’s implement.
Current Situation
As Ronen fully awoke to the current conditions, he realized that he cannot really recall the memories of his previous lifetimes, except that he must seek out and destroy all undead. He has flashbacks of Akashiya and these flashbacks sometimes appear in the form of nightmares, causing Ronen to wrack in agony.
Ronen was discovered by E.P.I.N. in the forests by accident. As the company has high regards for Devas, Ronen was invited to follow them to their HQ. Back at HQ, Ronen is invited to join the company. Ronen does not hesitate as he needs to understand the current world.
Ronen also realizes that the current world isn’t the same as it was anymore, with the advent of technology and modernity. Ronen dislikes modernity and prefers to stick to the medieval weapons. Modern weapons are used as a last resort.
Ronen knows his dhampyr nature but does not reveal it to strangers. But, Ronen will not hesitate to reveal his powers if he needs to.
As an Avenger, Ronen destroys all undead in his quest to seek out Akashiya. He knows Akashiya is not an evil vampire, and he intends to bring her to divine immortality with the Raven Queen’s powers.
