Making revisions, hope you don't mind...

Am I allowed to take the "Bereaved" Background from Dragon 380 - "The Raven Queens Champions".

"You lost someone close to you and his or her death haunts you still. Who was this person and how did they fit into your life? Aside from this person’s absence, how did his or her death shape your identity? Do you hope to find the lost one’s soul through service to the Raven Queen? Do you hope to revive the person or is it too late? Did unusual circumstances surround this death?"

It fits my background more (which i have yet to write), and its not setting specific. If not, ill stick with urban.

Also, are we allowed to spend our 50gp starting gold on mundane items/weapons?
Im looking at getting a Falchion or Greatsword. The standard issue weapons/costs aren't too attractive as secondary weapons...

the primary background must be from PHB or PHB 2

All players do not start with personal equipment beyond that of the sentient weapons.

I was actually hoping to shift the +2 bonus to religion, to raise it above the sad +5 trained

cause ominous births and the scholarship backgrounds hardly work for me... oh well, only a minor thing.

Ill be taking the Frequency Falchion btw~ cheers

otherwise in normal situation it'll cost
500gp (all starting characters have a 90% discount leh) and that's not adding the 20% tax

BAM!

At a young age, Maria was rendered an Orphan. She does not remember how, or when; only that since then, she had been sheltered by a Kind hearted Warforged named Eejee Eit. This is their story...

Before she had met Eejee, Maria (aged 10 at the time) wondered the streets as a beggar. Taking on the forms of different races to appeal to the different nobles, and if she was lucky she could get 'double-dips'.

However one fateful day, two members of the notorious 'Jaku' Gang had caught her shifting. They dont take too kindly to con-artists, naturally Maria made a run for it... The Jaku's gave chase.
When they finally caught Maria, they proceded to beat her down to -9 hp.
Then out of nowhere, a white warforged appeared! it was Eejee Eit~

"Hey you Jaku's! Leave the poor girl alone!"

and with those Inspiring Words(but actually they were Holy words), Maria got to use a healing surge and an extra 1d6. She was stable.

"We aint no Jaku boy, no Jaku!" growled one of the thugs

"I know Jaku trash when i see it" Eejee said with a smirk.

Eejee had no weapons on him, it was clear he had just come from a basket ball game(he won 21 - 14). As he was wearing his #08 Jersey and was holding a basket ball. The two thugs drew their heat Axes and charged.
The Jaku clan hung their heads in shame that day, they had lost two of their crew to a man armed only with a Ball.

Instinctivlely, Maria clung to Eejee and followed wherever he went. She would always ask "Why did you save me that day?", and he would always reply "It was not your time".
They would travel together for several years, Eejee dealing out death wherever he went. For that was his duty to the Raven Queen. Maria always close behind, at first pelting rocks, then firing sling and eventually light guns. Her life, her goals, her duty had become a replica of Eejees. For that was her nature, to follow after others and become them. She had become a Herald of the Raven Queen, Dealing fate to those who hide from it.

Current day...

One day Eejee had brought home a Large Case, a couple meters long, about a meter high (It's totally the gun btw).
Maria now 21, It is the day before her birthday. She says,

"Sup bro! Is that my present?"

"Something like that..." He said with a sigh "I'm Sorry I can't spend your Birthday with you..."

"Oh..." She said with dissapointment "Why not? Are you going somewhere?"

"It is my time... The queen calls me..."
And with those words came silence.

Eejee Proceeded to open the case, revealing the gun.
"This is yours... I had it custom made just for you, Blessed by Brother Megalopolous (a close friend, a priest of the ravenqueen and a hobbyist engineer)"

Silence...

"Shes beautiful" Mumbled Maria, trying to muster a smile.


"I'm happy you like it..."Eejee placed his hands on the rifle and began to chant. Light began to stream out of the many crevices of his structure. The room, now full of brilliant light, and Maria blinded.
"Goodbye..." Eejee said weakly.

When Maria recomposed herself, and could see once more. She was alone. Infront of her, Eejee's lifeless shell and his parting gift to her. She fell to her knees and wept a single tear, and just like every ol cliche fantasy story, it falls upon the gun.

Suddenly, Singing can be heard. It is a song of mourning. At first, Maria spins to see who is watching. but nobody is there. She follows the sound, only to find it is coming from the Rifle. MAGIC!

After a while, Maria decides it is time to... Bury Eejee. But with a touch, the shell collapses on itself. It has become emptied in such a way that it can be worn as armor. And with that an instinctive Idea enters Maria's mind.

She dons the armor, and shifts her form to become Eejee. This is her way of honoring him; She will not only follow in his steps, she will become them.

That day on, she ventures forth. In the name of Eejee Eit. His image, his armor, his parting gift, his memory, his life.

I will forego the Radiant resist 1 of standard issue full plate if you let me wear the Eejee Eit Shell as full plate. Also it looks like gundam

The Eejee Eit Shell is just your 'basic clothing' (need a weight for it). You wear it beneath your Cosmogard Full Plate (Warforged Version) - which is an adornment of add-ons to make the shell tougher

Suggested weight for Eejee Eit: 15lbs

So does she appear as a Warforged (changeling) all the time?
